Bring your own project and supplies.  Projects are not limited to painting.

The possibilities include beadwork, sketching, collage, and digital art - go where your creativity leads you.

For beginner and intermediate painters, learn to use the paint, brushes and palette knife to their greatest advantage.  During this workshop you will start and complete a land or sea scape oil painting using Bob Ross materials by a certified Bob Ross instructor. All students will follow the instructor step, by step.  All materials are included in the price and provided by the instructor.  Just bring yourself and lunch for a 30 min. lunch break.

All materials, including easels, paint, brushes, drawing tools are provided in this fun class.  You choose the subject. We have photos to help you or paint a still life.  Learn paint mixing, shadows, composition, brush use/care and some drawing skills.  We use skill building lessons to increase knowledge of all the above. This workshop style class includes instruction and demonstrations.  Not a craft class, but a true painting class. 

Learn to see and paint like an artist.

Just Bring Yourself - Beginner Acrylic Painting

All materials are provided – just bring yourself for this relaxing and fun beginner acrylic painting class.  You choose the subject.  Bring a photo or object to paint if you like or use one of our photos.  As you work on a subject of your choice, we will learn how to use Tools, Paint mixing, Value, Composition and more. 

A one time material fee for students new to the program of $25 provides you with paint, 2 11" x 14" canvases and 3 brushes to keep.

This workshop style class includes instruction, discussion and demonstrations.

Learn to cut your own mats at this informative Art League of Fort Myers class taught by Barbara Gage Mulford.

You will learn:

  • Basic measurements to most efficiently cut a mat

  • How to bevel cut

  • Handling mats

  • Attaching your artwork to the mat

You will receive hands on experience using the Art League's large mat cutter and

Bring several pieces of your watercolor, drawing, photography or other artwork to the class.  Advise the instructor the approximate size of your artwork prior to the class. Expect to mat at least 2 medium size art pieces.

This class will introduce you to the manual settings on your SLR camera, aperture and shutter modes, the exposure triangle, use of a flash and practice. this class will use a power point presentation and hands on.

Supplies: Your DSLR camera with removable lens, camera manual, charged battery, memory card and external flash, if you have one.

This is a series of 4 Monday classes, beginning Jan 22. The 2-4th class dates TBD.

The Elements of Art and Principles of Design

Introduction: My name is Eric Greenblatt. I have a Master’s Degree in Art from C.W.Post College in N.Y. . I am a certified Art teacher for all grades, college and adults. I have taught art for 41 years and am currently teaching at Riverdale High School. I also create art myself.

Classes are Saturdays 12:30-2:30

Class Description:

In this class I am offering, I will teach all mediums. If someone wants to learn sculpture, oil painting, acrylic painting, watercolor painting, drawing, pastels, ink drawing, landscapes, PORTRAITS, animal portraits, digital photography B& W or Color, and computer art (Adobe Photoshop) I will help them. Whatever the students want is what I want to provide.

I will also discuss the fundamentals of art: The Elements of Art and how they relate to the principles of Design. There will be Critiques by me on whatever art medium you bring in.

I have a lot of experience teaching different mediums at the same time. I juggle well. I only ask that you’re patient with me. If the class agrees to do the same thing, I can do that as well.

Bring your own art supplies. I can provide some; drawing pencils, drawing paper, watercolor sets, watercolor paper, a portable copy of Adobe Photoshop put on your Flash Drive. I will bring in my computer with Adobe Photoshop on it so you can see what is possible.
